Before the Chicago Blackhawks face off with Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals, they'll be visiting the White House and shaking hands with the President of the United States.

President Obama will meet the Stanley Cup champions, chairman Rocky Wirtz, general manager Stan Bowman, and head coach Joel Quenneville, as well as other members of the Blackhawks organization on March 11.

This should be a treat for Obama, who has never met a Chicago championship team in his tenure as president. The president is an avid sports fan, and a former state senator from Chicago.

After the ceremony, the Blackhawks will host a street hockey workout and clinic on the South Lawn for Washington youth.

On March 13, the Blackhawks face the Capitals at Verizon Center.
