Prince Harry prefers an alliance with Queen Elizabeth II over big brother Prince William in one matter.

The royal family members are also into sports like horse riding, rugby and football. Prince William is a popular fan of Aston Villa. In fact, he just took his family Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte to his favorite team’s game last Saturday.

Prince Harry is more into rugby than football. However, when it comes to supporting a football team, his allegiance is with his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, Daily Star reported. The Queen is reportedly a secret Arsenal fan.

Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly due to open their Emirates Stadium in 2006, but she didn’t make it due to back spasm. Prince Philip stepped in on her behalf much to the disappointment among Gunners bigwigs who were expecting to see the monarch.

Labour leader and Arsenal supporter Jeremy Corbyn confirmed that Queen Elizabeth was indeed a Gooner.

“Now, we know the Queen is absolutely above politics,” Corbyn said.

“She may be above football, too, but many locals harbour this quite secret view that she’s actually, privately, a Gooner.”

Former Arsenal playmaker Cesc Fabregas also shared that the Queen told him she was a “fan” during a Buckingham Palace reception. Arsenal could be jumping to the third in the Premier League table, but it remains unknown if there will be any royals in attendance during their game.

On the other hand, Prince William never hides his fondness for Aston Villa. The duke confessed that when he was at school he got into football big time and was looking around clubs. All of his friends at school were either Man United or Chelsea fans and he didn’t want to follow the run-of-the-mill teams.

“I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments,” Prince William said.

Prince William has influenced his kids when it comes to supporting his favorite team. Prince George and Princess Charlotte are Aston Villa fans, too. Prince George was even photographed jumping and clapping as he cheered for Aston Villa over the weekend.
