Prince William didn’t bow to Queen Elizabeth II as Kate Middleton showed her perfect curtsy to the monarch.

In a video shared on Instagram, the royals can be seen gathering together while waiting for the Queen’s arrival. Shortly, Her Majesty walked her way inside the church, Prince Harry, Mike and Zara Tindall and the rest of the members of the royals bowed to the Queen. Middleton also showed her perfect curtsy to the monarch. However, Prince William keeps his composure and refuses to bow down in the clip.

“I saw everyone curtsy and bow except William, is that because he is a future king?” one fan asked in the comments.

According to one user, the members of the royal family must curtsy to the Queen the first time they see her not every time they are in her presence. So, Prince William may have already seen Queen Elizabeth II earlier in the day or before being in public.

A different netizen agreed and wrote that it’s possible that the Duke of Cambridge already saw his royal grandmother earlier. Another user supported the same theory saying that a member of the royal family doesn’t have to bow or curtsy if they see the royal more than once.

Meanwhile, People praised Middleton’s curtsy to Her Majesty describing it as “perfect.” The royal mom of three bent her knees and smiled at Queen Elizabeth II while slightly bending her knees. The publication pointed out that this is exactly how Myka Meier founder and director of Beaumont Etiquette describes how a perfect curtsy should look like.

Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle didn’t join the royals for Easter as she is due any day. However, back in December 2017, the Duchess of Sussex did her first curtsy to the queen when she joined the members of the Firm in their traditional Christmas morning service.

According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, Markle did it wrong. Harrold pointed out how the former “Suits” star’s curtsy bobbing was too low and she bowed her head. He pointed out that one should put the right foot behind the left and then do a gentle bob. He also added that the hands should be kept in position so as not to look like a flightless bird.

On the other hand, he praised Middleton by saying that the Duchess of Cambridge got it right. He pointed out how Middleton kept her back straight as she slightly bent her knees.
