Prince William and Prince Harry had a heartbreaking reaction after learning that their parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana were splitting.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a fairytale wedding, but their marriage didn’t have a happy ending. They share two boys, Prince William and Prince Harry, who were very affected when they decided to part ways.

Biographer Andrew Morton shared in his 2011 book “William and Catherine ” how Prince William and Prince Harry reacted to the breakup. According to him, before the formal announcement, Princess Diana drove to Ludgrove, the prep school in Berkshire where Prince William and Prince Harry were borders to break the news.

“The boys’ responses are instructive – Harry seemed bewildered and almost indifferent, while his older bother burst into tears,” Morton wrote. “After he had composed himself, he told his mother, ‘I hope you will both be happy now.’”

Four years later, Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s divorce was finalized. The Princess of Wales was stripped of her HRH title and Penny Junor revealed in her 2017 book “The Duchess: The Untold Story” how Prince William reacted after learning it.

Princess Diana asked her son if he minded her losing her royal status. The Duke of Cambridge reportedly said, “I don’t mind what you’re called you’re mummy.”

According to Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s personal butler, Kate Middleton’s husband promised his mom that he would return her royal title when he becomes the new king.

“Don't worry Mummy, I will give it back to you one day when I am king,” Prince William said.

Prince William may not have the chance to fulfill it because his mom already passed away. However, Burrell believed that Prince William would still accomplish what he promised to his mom.

“One day when William is king, the first thing he’ll do is restore his mother’s titles,” Burrell said in the 2017 Amazon Prime documentary “The Diana Story.

Prince William and Middleton are rumored to be feuding with Meghan Mark and Prince Harry. Just recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were slammed for their cold and useless birthday greeting to Prince William.
