Queen Elizabeth II shared a special photograph to mark Mother's Day Sunday.

The monarch honored the holiday known as Mothering Sunday in the U.K. by sharing a throwback photo from her younger days on the Royal Family's official Instagram account. In the sepia-toned snap, Her Majesty posed alongside her mom, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and her younger sister, Princess Margaret.

"Wishing all those celebrating today a very special Mothering Sunday," the caption read.

The snap received several responses from the royal fans, with many greeting the Queen "Happy Mother's Day."

"Happy mother's day her majesty," one commented. Another wrote, "Happy Mother's day to you as well." A third fan added, "SPECIAL MOTHERING SUNDAY TO OUR MOTHER QUEEN ELIZABETH II, HEAD OF COMMONWEALTH."

Many also thanked the 95-year-old royal for sharing the special photo online. Meanwhile, several praised how pretty the royals looked in the snap.

"Queen Elizabeth, Princess Margaret and Princess Elizabeth. Beautiful portrait," one commented with a red heart emoji. "What a special photo," another added. "Soooo pretty," a different user wrote.

Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, also celebrated the holiday by sharing photos with their respective mothers on Clarence House's Instagram account. In the snap, the Prince of Wales smiled beside the Queen. The Duchess of Cornwall also beamed with her mom in their photo

"On Mothering Sunday, we celebrate all the Mothers in our lives and are thinking of those who cannot be with their Mothers today," the couple wrote in the caption.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton were back in the U.K. after wrapping up their eight-day Caribbean tour. They made it home to celebrate Mother's Day with their three children, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3.

While they were heading back home, Middleton wished all the moms from the media, who were accompanying them on their plane, a "Happy Mother's Day," People reported. Last year, the royal couple shared how their kids paid tribute to their late grandmother, Princess Diana, on Mother's Day. They shared the artworks done by their kids along with their sweet messages for the late Princess of Wales on Instagram.

"This year Mother's Day will be different once again. Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again," the couple wrote. "But for those experiencing bereavement, today may be particularly challenging. Each year on Mother's Day, George, Charlotte, and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William. Whatever your circumstances, we are thinking of you this Mother's Day."
