  • The net worths of the two tennis stars are neck-to-neck similar to their score in professional matches

Global tennis superstars Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have long been trying to edge each other out on the world stage to prove who is the number one player. But in terms of earnings, which of these two athletes comes out on top?

The rivalry between Nadal and Djokovic is currently at a near deadlock with the latter holding a lead with a score of 29-28 since they first met on the court. Forbes noted how Nadal won the Italian Open final against Djokovic, retaining his five-year undefeated record on clay against the Serbian player.

The two star athletes will once again meet in the French Open semi-finals, marking their 58th match overall and 15th match in the semi-finals or later of a Grand Slam, ATP Tour said.

The net worth of the two players is also a close match similar to their on-court rivalry. Celebrity Net Worth puts Nadal at $200 million and Djokovic at $220 million.

Nadal, the Spanish superstar, is known as the “king of clay” and earns tens of millions per year in tournament winnings alone, grabbing a $40 million prize in 2020, per Market Watch.

Nadal has been sponsored by Kia Motors since 2006 and Nike, which also produced specialized clothing for the tennis star over the years. He also has several endorsements with other brands, including Quely, Emporio Armani and Heliocare, as per Essentially Sports.

On the other hand, Djokovic, a Serbian athlete, is the only male tennis player who has won all nine Masters 1000 Tournaments and named the top-ranked player on five separate occasions, according to Celebrity Net Worth. He has also won a total of $145 million in career prize money over the years. Having won 18 Slam titles, he is in third place following Roger Federer and Nadal.

While their upcoming match-up is a must-see, fans are furious as they hoped to see the epic battle of two world-class tennis players in the finals. According to Yahoo Sports, people have gone to social media calling out officials for putting Nadal and Djokovic in the same bracket, preventing them from meeting in the championship round.
