  • Tottenham record signing Tanguy Ndombele is being linked to a move away from the Spurs
  • Real Madrid has reached out to Tottenham for Ndombele's potential transfer, a report says
  • Los Blancos joint-record signing Eden Hazard is also linked to transfer rumors

Real Madrid is looking to add another record signing into its squad, a report has said.

Following the departure of Jose Mourinho, nothing has been concrete yet at Tottenham, including the future of a few notable players in the club. Apart from Harry Kane, Tanguy Ndombele is another name being linked to a move away from the Spurs.

The season isn’t over yet, but reigning La Liga champion Real Madrid is already pursuing Ndombele, Football Insider reported, citing unnamed sources. International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

Ndombele, who became Tottenham’s club-record signing in 2019, will end his current deal with the Spurs in 2023. However, Los Blancos have decided to reach out to Tottenham for a potential transfer as early as now, the report said.

Tottenham, on the other hand, has yet to make a final decision about Ndombele. “A number of factors” are still being considered, including the permanent successor to the club’s former manager Mourinho, the report added.

In his first two seasons with Tottenham, Ndombele managed to become a regular despite having a rumored rift with Mourinho. The 24-year-old has made 28 English Premier League starts among 44 appearances across all competitions, recording six goals and four assists in the process.

However, the midfielder is beginning to become irrelevant for newly-appointed Tottenham manager Ryan Mason, having been omitted from the starting XI in the Spurs’ last two matches.

What’s even more interesting is that Real Madrid could also lose a club-record signing this summer.

Widespread rumors in Spain have linked Eden Hazard, who seemed to have lost his mojo since becoming Real Madrid’s joint-record signing in 2019, to a departure from Bernabeu.

Many have connected Hazard’s dwindling performance to a lack of passion for the game. Earlier reports stated that the 2015 Premier League Player of the Season is being mooted for a swap deal involving Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

However, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane said he remains optimistic about Hazard’s resurge. Moreso, the Frenchman is certain that the star midfielder fancies winning at Madrid.

"All the players have their hearts in the club but for now it hasn't been possible to see the Eden Hazard we want to see,” Zidane recently told reporters when quizzed about Hazard’s transfer.

"But I believe he is going to get there,” he added. “It's a difficult moment with everything that's happened but he has a contract and what he wants is to succeed here."
