Jennifer Lopez said yes to Alex Rodriguez's proposal back in March. And the "World of Dance" judge recently opened up about the reason why she wants to tie the knot for the fourth time after three failed marriages.

During an interview with "Today's" Savannah Guthrie, Lopez, 49, talked about her decision to marry again while promoting her "It's My Party" tour. The "Medicine" singer confessed that another marriage had always been in the cards for her.

“I want to spend my life with somebody,” the singer said. “I want to grow old with somebody. I think that’s the goal, right? To find a partner to kind of walk through this crazy thing with, right?”

The singer-actress also touched on the reason why she and A-Rod work as a couple, revealing that they just "complement each other." Lopez explained that her former MLB star fiance loves her for who she is and that they share the same views and priorities in life.

“He allows me to be who I am and I want him to shine in the greatest way possible and to be his best self. We just help each other be better people, in a way, you know?” Lopez dished. “We love our families. We’re very similar as well. We grew up the same. We kind of both got in the public eye very young. We both had kind of our hard moments in the public eye but at the same time we keep coming back.”

Prior to meeting A-Rod, Lopez was married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003 and Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. She shares twins Max and Emme, 11, with Anthony.

As for Rodriguez, the retired Yankees star had been married from 2002 to 2008 to Cynthia Scurtis, with whom he shares daughters Natasha, 14, and Ella, 11,

But while they are eager to spend the rest of their lives together, planning the wedding is a whole other story. Lopez recently told WKTU’s "Cubby & Carolina In the Morning" that she and Rodriguez have not yet started preparing for their wedding.

“We haven’t started planning yet. You know, we just got engaged! Then right afterwards we started working right away, and we’re working the rest of the year, so I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Lopez admitted.

“We haven’t decided if we’re going to squeeze it in somewhere or we’re going to wait, so, you know," she continued. "I really don’t know yet. It’s easy, I’m not lying right now!”
