Amber Rose and Blac Chyna are no strangers to controversy. The pair frequently make headlines for speaking their minds, showing some skin and being bold in general, but their 2015 MTV Video Music Awards outfits were next level. The famous best friends arrived in Los Angeles wearing matching looks covered in NSFW words females are often called. As shocking as their outfits were, it's the meaning behind it that's really going to blow you away.

Buzzfeed reported Amber Rose and Blac Chyna chose to adorn themselves in derogatory words as a way of embracing and reclaiming them. Blac Chyna, who shares a young son with rapper Tyga, told the publication she and Amber Rose are both aware they're being called these things and wanted to "paint a picture" for outsiders. She and Amber Rose are outspoken supporters of women's rights and frequently call people out for shaming them and others for being sexual.

“We’re basically wanting to just paint a picture of what people say about us already,” Blac Chyna said. “We’re just trying to embrace it.”

Members of their entourage also strutted their stuff on the red carpet in NSFW outfits. Theirs were, however, less colorful and covered in different words tailored to their experience in the public eye. Twitter users have spoken out about Amber Rose, Blac Chyna and their whole crew's bold fashion statement and, from the looks of things, it was a win.
