Rob Kardashian is beaming with joy over the news that fiancée Blac Chyna is expecting their first child together. Though the pair broke the news May 6 via Instagram, they don’t plan to be as open with fans during the rest of their pregnancy.

The Arthur George sock designer opened up to E! News about Blac Chyna’s baby bombshell. In the interview, Rob, 29, gushed about how “exciting” the prospect of being a father is. He told the publication he is over the moon about having a baby but is not interested in talking too much about it. Rob is notoriously private — he spent more than a year in recluse after putting on more than 100 pounds — so it should come as no surprise to fans that he’s not looking to expose his unborn child to the public eye.

“I’m happy, and I just like to keep it, you know, keep it private ... as private as can be,” the father-to-be said.

While Rob and Blac Chyna, 28, are elated about the pregnancy, it seems it’s been a hard pill for the rest of the Kardashians to swallow. On Wednesday, it was reported that Kylie Jenner was taking the news especially hard. Sources told People magazine that although she was not initially thrilled about her soon-to-be niece or nephew, Kylie — along with the rest of the Kardashian clan — has come to terms with the idea. One source claimed the Kardashians and the young Jenner girls decided it was “for the greater good” to give Blac Chyna a chance.

Kylie isn’t the only one that had a hard time understanding and accepting Rob and Blac Chyna’s relationship. Khloé Kardashian, a longtime supporter of Rob’s, was less than enthused about her little brother’s newfound love interest. In fact, one People magazine source claimed the reason Khloé struggled so much with Rob’s relationship to Blac Chyna is because her feelings were hurt. She reportedly found it hard to accept that the model is the one who got Rob back on track rather than her.

Blac Chyna went public about her pregnancy last week. She took a note from Kim Kardashian when sharing the good news, using a custom emoji — called a “Chymoji” — on Instagram. She posted no text with the image, though the message was clear. The child is the first for Rob and the second for Blac Chyna. The starlet has a son named King Cairo with Kylie’s boyfriend, Tyga.

It remains unclear when Rob and Blac Chyna’s child is due. The couple has released no further information about their unborn baby, including its gender.
