A Bellator fighter celebrated his win by performing The Rock’s “People’s Elbow” inside the cage.

MMA and pro wrestling are two completely different sports. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has established his name in the WWE but has never fought in MMA his entire career. However, Bellator lightweight sensation Anthony Taylor brought WWE in MMA after pulling off a WWE superstar’s iconic finishing move inside the cage. Taylor, who battled Chris Avila at Bellator 238 from The Forum in Inglewood, California on Saturday, won via majority decision in a hard-fought 3-round lightweight clash.

The 30-year-old fighter did a tremendous job during the fight but what made his win even more notable is his post-fight celebration. Evidently thrilled by his spectacular win, Taylor lively ran across the Bellator cage and mimicked The Rock’s world-famous “People’s elbow” in front of live audience.

Entertained by the electrifying act, Bellator CEO Scott Coker himself posted the clip on his official social media account.

“TheRock’s “People’s Elbow” has made an appearance at Bellator238,” Coker wrote.

Coker has been known for making the most entertaining fights in MMA happen. In fact, Bellator 238 was headlined by a title fight between former UFC star and fan-favorite Chris Cyborg and now former Bellator champ Julia Budd. The fight was believed to be approved by Coker because of the fans and posting Taylor’s People’s Elbow clip definitely added more hype in the into it and drew attention to MMA fans around the world.

Taylor is already considered a seasoned MMA fighter winning 7 of his 12 professional fights. However, he has not reached MMA stardom and being included in the stacked Bellator 238 card was a great opportunity for the California native.

Before Bellator 238, Taylor was coming off a four-fight winning streak. He started his winning ways by defeating Dean Barry at BAMMA 35 in May 2018. Taylor followed it up after a year with another decision win over Ryan Reneau in 2019. The self-proclaimed “Pretty Boy” has convinced Bellator to book him once again after he beat Brandon Faumui last August.

The Rock has not commented about Taylor yet but it was the first time a professional MMA fighter performed the WWE superstar’s signature move inside the cage. Although quite impossible, It would have been more epic if Taylor managed to do the People’s elbow during the actual fight.

Taylor’s next fight in Bellator isn’t guaranteed yet but he is expected to fight for the promotion again in the future.
