There’s no better way to kick off the holiday season than with the most famous reindeer of all. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” airs tonight on CBS.

The special, which was created in 1964, was filmed in Tokyo while the sound was recorded in Toronto. The special, however, has become an American favorite. It follows Rudolph, a young reindeer with a shiny red nose. He doesn’t see the nose as a good thing, though. He covers up his snout with dirt to look like everybody else.

Once his red nose is discovered, he is ostracized. Luckily, Santa Claus know just how useful Rudolph can be on a cloudy Christmas Eve.

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” airs Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. It delays “NCIS,” which will instead air at 9 p.m. EST, followed by “FBI” at 10 p.m. EST. “NCIS: New Orleans” will not air this week.
