  • Neymar sets his condition to rejoining FC Barcelona
  • Barca offered PSG a player swap deal
  • The financial hit at Camp Nou has made the Neymar deal tougher to handle

Barcelona is not scrapping their plan of signing Neymar back. But the impending reunion will have to pass through the rough road as both the Brazilian star and the Spanish club offer their respective conditions concerning the potential deal in the summer.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has since been desperate about resigning the former Camp Nou star. But according to Joaquim Piera of Sports.es, the Catalans are only willing to offer a player swap deal with PSG.

"Barça are only considering an offer that involves players in exchange for the Brazilian. And they hope that PSG will be more open this summer, aware that Neymar only has two years left on his contract," Piera wrote.

Among the players at Camp Nou, French internationals Antoine Griezmann, Samuel Umtiti, and Ousmane Dembélé could gain the most interest from PSG, according to Piera.

But making the return even more daunting to put into fruition is Neymar's own personal offer to Barcelona.

According to Ranoveer Neogi of Fansided’s Everything Barca, the 28-year-old is asking his former club to add his fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva to the swap deal.

"Neymar has put forward a condition that he would only sign the Barcelona contract if they sign Thiago Silva along with him," Neogi wrote, characterizing the demand as more of a burden to the already complex situation.

"Both the Brazilians are close friends as they share the same locker room in PSG and with the national team, Thiago Silva’s contract in France runs out in June and the former Barca winger believes that the addition of his compatriot in the Camp Nou would be beneficial due to his physical prowess and years of experience," he added, per Don Balon.

PSG has reportedly set the price for Neymar at about €200 million and is not willing to take any amount less. And with the global Coronavirus pandemic serving financial blows, the task to reclaim the prized winger has indeed become tougher to pull off for Barcelona.

Neymar suited up for Camp Nou from 2013 to 2017, appearing in 123 matches where he scored 68 goals. He was first rumored to return to Spain prior to last year’s transfer deadline but the attempt simply went down the drain.
