Bear Grylls of “Man vs. Wild” is getting a new show. NBC announced Thursday that the adventurer and TV host will be setting off on another crazy journey come July 28 – “Running Wild with Bear Grylls.”

The hourlong series is similar to a lot of the survivalist TV shows currently on the air … except with a huge twist. Instead of going out on his own or teaming up with another trained adventurer, Bear Grylls will go out into the wilderness with celebrities.

Viewers can look forward to seeing Grylls team up with Zac Efron (“Neighbors”), Ben Stiller (“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”), Channing Tatum (“22 Jump Street”), NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Tom Arnold (“Sons of Anarchy”) and Tamron Hall (“Today” anchor).

According to NBC ‘s press release, each celebrity will “endure the harsh wilderness in high-octane, action-based and empowering journeys spread over six remote locations.” The show will feature Grylls and his celebrity companion engaging in everything from skydiving into the Catskill Mountains to “battling torrential wind and rain in Scotland.”

“’Running Wild’ allows viewers to see inside the hearts and minds of these guests in a very open, honest and vulnerable way, pushing them out of their comfort zones and seeing what they are like in real life when stripped of all the benefits of celebrity,” Grylls said of his new series. “Ultimately, this show is about taking these stars on the adventure of a lifetime and being alongside them when they discover something new and empowering about themselves and their world. For me, that is always a privilege.”

Viewers can watch Bear Grylls set off on his first 48-hour journey on Monday, July 28, at 8 p.m. EDT. Will you be tuning in to watch “Running Wild with Bear Grylls”? Tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop and take the poll below.
