Sarah Ferguson was urged to grow up by fuming royal courtiers years ago.

In the 2012 book “Prince Andrew: The War Hero from Buckingham Palace, author Jessica Jayne revealed that Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s marriage broke down immediately after their wedding ceremony.

Initially, royal fans thought that the Duke and Duchess of York looked good together because of the many similarities that they shared. They were a stay-at-home couple, and they usually invited friends over to Windsor on weekends. Despite their similar sense of fun, Jayne noted that the couple’s marriage couldn’t be held together.

Ferguson previously talked about her marriage to Prince Andrew. “Two weeks after the wedding, the royal courtiers told Andrew, who thought he’d be stationed in London, ‘you have to go to sea.’ I spent my entire first pregnancy alone. When Beatrice was born, Andrew got 10 days offshore leave and when he left and I cried, they all said, ‘Grow up and get a grip,’” she said (via Express).

After giving birth to Princess Eugenie, Ferguson decided to stay at home more often to spend time with her daughters. At that time, Ferguson was accused of being work-shy by the press. The mom-of-two was also criticized for her questionable fashion choices, her appearance and her weight.

And while Prince Andrew was away at sea, and his relatives were busy with their royal duties, Ferguson ended up partying with her friends. She was once again slammed for ignoring her two young children and for saying that her financial allowance was inadequate.

In 1992, Prince Andrew and Ferguson decided to split, but they have maintained an amicable relationship with each other. In fact, they still live together at the Royal Lodge.

During a recent interview, Ferguson said that her life with Prince Andrew and their daughters is the greatest ever. “It’s so hard to comprehend because we’re not normal. This is our fairytale, and we’re telling it our way,” she told Modern Hero.
