Selena Gomez has agreed to go on date with British actor Martin Kemp’s son Roman, the Sun Online reported Monday. The news comes after Gomez reportedly said any relationship for her is “doomed to fail.”

Roman Kemp, a 23-year-old radio DJ, told the Sun Online that Gomez is ready to meet him again next time she visits London. “I’ve invited her out for pizza and she seems to think that it’s going to happen when she comes back on tour, so we’ll see,” he told the online edition of the tabloid.

Roman reportedly has a “huge crush” on the 23-year-old singer/actress. “When she came into the studio, I was like, ‘Oh, my god.’ She’s one of those people that you see so much on TV and stuff, and then she’s even more stunning in real life,” he said, according to the Sun.

But Roman laments he might have to avoid dating Gomez so as not to offend her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. “It’s a bit awkward because I’m mates with the Biebs, so I can’t do that. It’s bro code. I wouldn’t want to run the risk of offending him. I stick to the bro code, but it would be very difficult with Selena,” he told the website.

Meanwhile, Gomez is reportedly “very apprehensive” about trying anything new. She also reportedly joked with her friends that she will be single forever.

“Selena has seen some writing on the wall that her having a relationship in the future is going to be very, very hard. … She is very apprehensive in trying something new or being set up because she believes it is doomed to fail from the start, for a plethora of reasons. She covers those emotions up, though, by always working. She now wants to be continuously busy -- whether it is with her tour or doing films. It gives her an excuse to not stress on meeting a guy,” a source told Hollywood Life.
