Gomez’s latest sighting with her new beau comes after her interview with Vogue magazine, wherein she opened up about social media, her stint in rehab and her life as a pop star. This marks Gomez’s first time to be featured on the cover of U.S. Vogue.

Gomez revealed that her self-esteem had hit an all time low last year prior to her hiatus from the entertainment industry. “Tours are a really lonely place for me. My self-esteem was shot. I was depressed, anxious. I started to have panic attacks right before getting onstage, or right after leaving the stage. Basically I felt I wasn’t good enough, wasn’t capable,” she explained.

Despite wanting to please her fans, Gomez shared that she felt like she was all tapped out at one point. “I felt I wasn’t giving my fans anything, and they could see it... What I wanted to say is that life is so stressful, and I get the desire to just escape it. But I wasn’t figuring my own stuff out, so I felt I had no wisdom to share. And so maybe I thought everybody out there was thinking, ‘This is a waste of time,’” she continued.

The “Hands to Myself” hitmaker was also asked about boyfriend The Weeknd, but Gomez refused to talk about him, implying that she has been burned in the past and doesn’t want to repeat her mistakes. According to Vogue writer Rob Haskell, Gomez said “everything she has said about her relationships in the past has come back to bite her, and that she will never do it again.”

“Look, I love what I do, and I’m aware of how lucky I am,” she replied when asked about The Weeknd. “But -- how can I say this without sounding weird? I just really can’t wait for people to forget about me.”
