In a similar fashion to Ingrid Nilsen, YouTube star Shane Dawson revealed he was bisexual in a touching video Tuesday. Dawson-- who has garnered nearly 7 million followers since he started making videos in 2008-- revealed that he has been unsure about his sexual identity all his life, particularly this past year.

“I’m making this video because I feel like it could help a lot of people,” he said in the clip, which has already obtained more than 50,000 likes. “I always wished that I was gay, that I was just 100 percent gay. It would be a lot easier to be accepted by people…but I’m not.”

“I’m not completely gay, and I can’t sit here and say that I am, but I also can’t sit here and say that I’m straight,” the vlogger continued. “I’ve come to the conclusion, through therapy and through being honest with myself, I am bisexual.”

Dawson, whose real name is Shane Lee Yaw, said he was “scared” to come out, but added that “love is love” in his description of the video. “Don’t be afraid of who you are,” he continued.

“Thank u guys for the support,” the 26-year-old tweeted to his 2.6 million Twitter followers after the video started to go viral. “I know ‘bisexual’ is something that gets made fun of and it's scary to talk about it, but just know you aren't alone.”

Many of his fans sent their support via Twitter. They said they were proud of him and that he was a role model. Some of their comments have been posted below:
