Shay Mitchell’s travel accessories line BÉIS has decided to move forward in launching the second half of their spring collection, even if it is a “sensitive” time for the world.

The 32-year-old actress and former model took to her Instagram Tuesday to share with fans the decision to continue with the launch, saying that she understands we are living in “strange and uncertain times,” but that she and her team discussed moving forward could be the best option to offer a bit of “normalcy and optimism, even if just for a few days.”

She explained that lots of time was spent debating what the right decision would be and that the company itself has team members who are "personally affected by what is going on.”

“It is our sincere hope that in the future there will be a new path for all of us to go down together, and BÉIS wants to be there for that,” she wrote.

She ended her post with a plea to support all of the “small businesses out there” who are struggling financially during the global pandemic.

BÉIS was launched in October 2018, according to Refinery29, to cater to those who travel frequently and are in need of affordable but comfortably chic travel accessories. The original line included standard items like a duffle bag, suitcase, cosmetic case and passport holder, among other accessories.

Mitchell was inspired to create BÉIS because she wanted to fill what she saw as a void in the travel industry.

“I found that everything on the market either looked good but was so expensive or was super-affordable yet looked cheap and didn't function well,” she said to Forbes in October 2019.

The second half of the spring collection features items in softer, lighter colors like yellows and beige, and includes backpacks, weekend bags and “The Everyday Tote,” according to the BÉIS Instagram.

The second half of BÉIS’s spring collection launched Wednesday.
