The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet has already started rolling out globally. In addition to the U.S. Xperia handset owners, this firmware package has also been spotted in the following regions: Thailand, Russia, Algeria, MENA Arabic, Saudi Arabia, India and Malaysia, GSM Arena noted.

Following the rollout, Sony has uploaded a video via its official YouTube channel. This video explains all the goodness of Marshmallow firmware in general. Plus, it also highlights some of the key aspects of this software update.

Even though, the Android 6.0 OTA update is being rolled out in phases, some of the Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet users have already received the firmware. For those device owners, this video helps in understanding the software better and in the process, users can take advantage of all the new features and enhancements that come bundled with this update.

Apart from explaining the key Marshmallow features like the enhanced app permission system and the redesigned sharing mechanism, Sony has also explained the improvements specific to camera software customized by its UI. This video holds good for any Sony device that is eligible for Android 6.0 update.

Sony’s Android 6.0 OTA update covers the single-SIM variant E6653 and the dual-SIM models E6683 and E6633. Apart from the OTA update, this firmware update can also be downloaded with the help of the Sony PC Companion app. The software version on the Xperia handset after the download and installation should read: 32.1.A.1.163.
