“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” just hit theaters Friday, but some fans are already thinking about what’s coming next. Luckily, they won’t have to wait long for sequels, prequels and more.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” (May 25, 2018) The next “Star Wars” movie isn’t too far away. This spring, the Han Solo prequel will finally arrive. The movie follows Han (Alden Ehrenreich) before he met Luke Skywalker. However, there will be some fan favorite characters. Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) will be along for the ride. Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Paul Bettany and Phoebe Waller-Bridge also star.

The action flick finished filming, but the moviemaking process was not without a few bumps. “Solo” made headlines when directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller dropped out in the middle of filming. Ron Howard replaced them.

“Star Wars: Episode IX” (Dec. 20, 2019) “The Force Awakens” focused on Han (Harrison Ford), “The Last Jedi” is heavy on Luke (Mark Hamill) scenes, and the final episode in this trilogy was set to be Carrie Fisher’s time to shine as General Leia Organa. Her death will obviously affect that storyline. Lucasfilm has not announced how the loss of Fisher will be addressed in the film.

“Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow was originally set to direct, but he has since stepped down. “Episode VII” director J.J. Abrams will instead return for the final installment of the current trilogy. He and Jack Thorne are co-writing the script. Filming will start in June.

Boba Fett Movie (rumored for 2020) This movie was originally set to come out before “Solo” and be the first of the anthology films, but it seems to have lost some steam. Originally, Josh Trank was set to direct the film, which was supposed to be the next standalone feature after “Rogue One.” However, Trank left the film in 2015, and it seems like “Solo” took precedence.

There are rumors that “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” director Simon Kinberg could takeover, but no real information is available yet.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Movie (no release date) According to an August report from the Hollywood Reporter, there is no script for this movie yet, but Stephen Daldry, who direct “Billy Elliot” and “The Hours,” was being eyed to helm the movie. Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor previously played the character. It isn’t clear if McGregor would return or if a new actor would come in for the film.

The Next Trilogy (no release date) Rian Johnson will shape this trilogy much like Abrams has the current one. Based on the stellar reviews for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” it’s easy to see why they have chosen the director. He has been praised for blending drama and comedy and adding nuance to the epic space films.

Johnson revealed to /Film that he and Lucasfilm wanted to find ways to keep working together, and the director said he’d be interested in the next three films. “I said, the most interesting thing to me would be a new trilogy, one story told over three movies,” he said. “Go new places, meet new folks, come up with a new story to tell in the ‘Star Wars’ universe. The sky’s the limit. That sounds thrilling. And they really responded to that.”
