UPDATE: 1:25 a.m. EST -- The St. Louis Rams released a statement late Tuesday on Stedman Bailey's condition. The wide receiver was shot Tuesday in Miami, Florida, and has been hospitalized after suffering head injuries.
“We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening. We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more." the statement said.

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey was shot Tuesday in Miami, Florida, and has been hospitalized, according to reports. Bailey reportedly suffered head injuries that are believed to be non life-threatening.
According to the National Football Post, Bailey will undergo surgery Wednesday morning.
Ian Rapoport, national insider for NFL Network, said that Bailey was shot twice in the head while sitting in a car with two young relatives and his cousin.
Several NFL players and Twitter users sent out their prayers as reports surfaced that Bailey has been shot.
