Technology stocks extended their losses Tuesday as higher interest rates appeared to put pressure on some tech giants.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 194.55 points, or 0.55%, to close at 35,813.80 and the S&P 500 jumped 7.76 points, or 0.17%, at 4,690.70.

The Nasdaq index fell for the second consecutive day. The Nasdaq closed at 15,775.14, down 79.62, or 0.5%.

Tesla (TSLA) and Microsoft (MSFT) were among the worst performers among the tech giants. Tesla closed at $1,109.03, down $47.84, or 4.14%. Microsoft closed at $337.68, down $2.15, or 0.63%.

Zoom Video Communications (ZM) closed at $206.64, down $35.64, or 14.71%. The video conferencing company, which drew increased attention in 2020 during the pandemic, warned of an upcoming slowdown to its business.
