Laurie Metcalf has landed a guest-starring role on CW’s “Supergirl.”

According to TVLine, Metcalf will appear as Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) estranged mom in Season 3, episode 15, which will air sometime next year.

News of Metcalf’s upcoming appearance on “Supergirl” was first revealed in a recent Vanity Fair profile, in which the actress revealed that she initially showed interest in the part “so her youngest child can meet her idol Melissa Benoist.”

Viewers met Winn’s dad, Winslow Schott Sr., aka Toyman, in Season 1, episode 10, titled “Childish Things.” In the episode, which aired on CBS, Winn had a disastrous reunion with Toyman who escaped from prison in order to murder to his old boss. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO were able to stop Toyman’s plan and he was sent back behind bars at the end of the installment.

Metcalf is best known for playing the role of Jackie Harris on NBC’s “Roseanne” from 1988 to 1997. The 62-year-old actress is reprising the three-time Emmy-winning role in the upcoming revival of the series, which will premiere next year. Metcalf’s recent TV credits include HBO’s “Getting On,” CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” and ABC’s “Desperate Housewives.”

On the film side, Metcalf was last seen in Greta Gerwig’s dramedy “Lady Bird,” which opened in theaters earlier this month. She’s also currently working on “Toy Story 4,” in which she voices the character of Mrs. Davis.

Metcalf is the latest actress to join the ever-growing cast of “Supergirl.” Just earlier this week, “No Tomorrow” alum Jesse Rath was cast in the recurring role of Brainiac 5, a half-computer, half-organic life with a 12-level intellect. Brainiac 5 is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes who travels to National City from the 31st Century to help Supergirl and the DEO battle Reign (Odette Annable).

Last September, TV legend Betty Buckley and Bollywood star Amy Jackson also joined the cast. Buckley is set to appear as Patricia Arias, Samantha's (Annable) “honest but stubborn” adoptive mom. Jackson, meanwhile, will play Saturn Girl, a kind, smart and strong-willed hero who uses her telekinetic ability to help those in need. Like Brainiac 5, Saturn Girl is a member of Legion of Super-Heroes, who arrives on Earth to help Supergirl defeat Reign.

“Supergirl” Season 3 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
