A nerve-wracking video of a tiger pulling a safari vehicle carrying tourists in India has gone viral on social media.

The incident reportedly happened in Bannerghatta National Park in the southern Indian state of Karnataka and became viral after the video was shared by a popular Indian industrialist Anand Mahindra on Twitter, Times Now News reported.

"Well, that car is a Xylo, so I guess I’m not surprised he’s chewing on it. He probably shares my view that Mahindra cars are Deeeliciousss," Anand, the owner of Mahindra group, a popular manufacturer of cars in India, captioned the video. The video has fetched more than 539,000 views and 28,000 likes on Twitter at the time of writing.

The video that appears to be shot from another safari vehicle shows the tiger standing behind a black SUV while biting the rear bumper of that vehicle. After repeated attempts at biting and chewing, the tiger manages to get a grip on the bumper and eventually pulls the car backward. "Oh my God he is pulling the whole car," tourists in the second safari vehicle could be heard saying in the video.

While the video was shared only recently, it is unclear when the incident happened. However, in the comments section of the post, one of the viewers identified himself as a tourist who was inside the SUV when the incident happened. He claimed that the encounter was in November 2020 when the SUV carrying them broke down at Bannerghatta National Park.

The incredible video has also received several comments from viewers who were left amazed by the power of the wild cat. Some viewers were terrified at the plight of the tourists inside the safari vehicle. "I guess the tiger is helping to start the vehicle by reverse pull. It is just figuring out a strong grip to pull with," a viewer wrote.

"The power of a tiger in full display! Fantastic!" another said. "Oh my God! Worth watching the video. Imagine the power and strength of Tiger," a viewer commented.

Tigers use their jaws for holding and gripping their moving prey, which may often be larger than them. Their teeth and jaws are extremely strong, flexible, and powerful enough to grab onto and drag animals bigger and heavier than them.
