Tesla recently placed a Model Y crossover SUV in front of its Fremont seat factory. The new car has a deep blue metallic paint job, and both onlookers and interested buyers checked the car out to see how it looks. Here’s what we know on the new car.

As seen on the car’s pictures posted on Reddit, the blue Tesla Model Y was showcased in its full glory. True to its design, the crossover SUV looks more like a sedan but its size is intended to match with other SUVs in the market. Previously, Tesla used a Model Y with a similar color for the vehicle test drives during the car’s unveiling.

Due to the car’s black car door handle and outlines, the Model Y display is a chrome-deleted variant. These type of Tesla cars have black colors where it would usually be defaulted as white. Before this type was offered, many owners often had to buy the black aftermarket parts themselves. So far, the Model Y display unit having this could mean that this type would be offered for the new car.

While the company has successfully produced a few units of the Model Y, the mass production location for the car is yet to be decided. Tesla is currently eyeing one of their two factories, namely the Nevada Gigafactory and Fremont factory, the place where the display Model Y is currently shown. According to Teslarati, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has joked on one of his public appearances that they’re considering to erect heavy-duty tents to accommodate Model Y production if they do start it on Fremont.

As of now, interested Model Y buyers will still have to wait until the end of the year to purchase the vehicle. The first four Long Range variants of Model Y will be released later this year and the Standard Battery variants would be available in the early 2020. For now, everybody looking out to own a Model Y will have to wait for Tesla to finalize the production for the Model Y before it can happen.
