KEY POINTS

  • Thanh Le and Tang Kai's pristine records are on the line against each other
  • Paul Elliott looks to earn his first win within ONE Championship against newcomer Martin Batur
  • The Singapore-Malaysia rivalry is on full display between Amir Khan and Keanu Subba

The bad blood between lightweight champion Ok Rae Yoon and Christian Lee is set to be decided in the main event of ONE 160, a fight that many are expecting to dominate the headlines.

However, they could be in for some tough competition against three other matches scheduled for the event.

Thanh Le vs. Tang Kai

The co-main event of ONE 160 will see ONE featherweight king Thanh Le defend his title against Chinese knockout artist Tang Kai.

With each man carrying a decent winning streak to the event at the 12,000-seater capacity Singapore Indoor Stadium, their upcoming clash has the makings of a show-stealing fight.

Le is more well-regarded among mixed martial arts (MMA) fans for his grappling skills, but he has built a reputation for knocking out other featherweights with ease and has rarely been put to the test within ONE Championship.

Tang became a fan-favorite since his debut within the promotion thanks to his wicked knockout power especially when he ended Kim Jae Woong's hopes at a title shot at ONE X.

Though each man has the support of established veterans like Honorio Banario and Danny Kingad, one man's unblemished record under the Singapore-based combat sports outfit must end to claim the title.

Paul Elliott vs. Martin Batur

Heavyweight fighters have always had a decent shot at winning the Fight of the Night, courtesy of their ability to finish bouts in spectacular fashion.

Paul Elliott and Martin Batur can do just that when they meet in the third match of ONE 160's undercard.

The former's first foray into ONE Championship ended in disaster after he was handed his first professional loss by South Korea's Kang Ji Won at ONE X, knocking him out in just 58 seconds.

He has an opportunity to get back to his winning ways when he welcomes Batur to the organization.

The Croatian heavyweight is as dangerous as they come because his ability to both knock out and submit opponents could put Elliott in a tough spot once again.

Amir Khan vs. Keanu Subba

ONE Championship veterans are set to rekindle the rivalry between Singapore and Malaysia as featherweights Amir Khan and Keanu Subba take on one another in the undercard.

The two nations have been at odds with one another which dates back to Singapore joining Malaysia in 1963 as its 14th state, with the former having Lee Kuan Yew as their prime minister.

Since Singapore split from its land-locked neighbor, the two sides have not ceased trying to one-up each other.

Subba taking the win would be another feather in the cap for his nation, while a Khan victory would further solidify Singapore's bragging rights.

With national pride on the line for both men, Singapore and Malaysian fans will be eager to see who comes out victorious at ONE 160.
