Latest rumors fueled by a report published by The National Enquirer say that the former Alaska Governor and a potential Republican presidential candidate Sarah Palin's marriage is in trouble.

The Enquirer has claimed that sources close to Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, say he is ready to file for a divorce as he is fed up with the constant scandals that have marred their marriage ever since she ran for vice president.

The divorce rumors have surfaced in the wake of the launch of the book, The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, authored by Joe McGinniss, which alleges that Palin used cocaine and marijuana, had a one-night stand with NBA star Glen Rice, and a long-term affair with her husband's business partner, Brad Hanson.

Sarah Palin has been destroyed by Joe McGinniss' no-holds-barred biography. It exposed all her lies, cover-ups and secrets, The Enquirer quotes a source close to Palin. As a result she has been told by her advisers that it would be political suicide to announce a White House candidacy. The press and her opponents would have a field day digging into the dirty details of her background.

The National Enquirer also claims that Palin's brother Chuck Heath Jr's revelation to a friend that the Palins didn't have a marriage and McGinniss' book had hurt Todd Palin. Todd felt as if he was stabbed in the back by his own brother-in-law after 23 years of being married to the guy's sister, and having five kids together, a source close to the family said.

McGinniss, whose other nonfiction works include a bestseller about Richard Nixon's 1968 presidential run, spent four months last year interviewing Palin's official and personal associates while living in a rented home right next to Palin's residence on the shore of Lake Lucille in Wasilla, Alaska.

According to the book, nine months before her marriage to Todd Palin, Sarah Heath spent a night with the basketball player Glen Rice in her sister's dorm room at the University of Alaska. According to reports, McGinniss has obtained a quote from Rice who confirmed having slept with Palin.

Palin allegedly smoked marijuana with one of her college professors and snorted cocaine while on a snowmobiling trip with her husband. She also had an alleged six-month affair with Hanson, Todd Palin's business associate.

The source told the Enquirer that Todd Palin feels like he's been made a laughing stock as his wife's affairs had become a joke on late night TV and were all over the internet.

According to the sources, Todd Palin was fuming over the book's allegation that his wife had an affair with his business partner, Hanson, and that Todd Palin dissolved their snowmobile dealership after learning of it.

Earlier, in a statement released following the allegations, Todd Palin slammed McGinniss, saying that he has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us. He traffics in innuendo and falsehoods.

Todd Palin married his high school sweetheart, Sarah, in 1988 and gave up his 18-year career with BP in the North Slope oil fields of Alaska, in 2007, in order to avoid a conflict of interest that related to his wife's position as governor. Seven months later, because the family needed more income, Todd Palin returned to BP. In order to avoid potential conflict of interest, this time, he accepted a non-management position as a production operator. He resigned from his job on Sept. 18, 2009, with the stated reason of a desire to spend more time with his family.
