The top after-market Nasdaq gainers Tuesday were Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation, Renewable Energy Group Inc, Synacor Inc, Arena Pharmaceuticals and Transcept Pharmaceuticals Inc.

The top after-market Nasdaq losers were Horizon Pharma Inc, KIT digital Inc, Myriad Genetics Inc, TICC Capital Corp and Lexicon Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Gainers

Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (VTSS) shares climbed 15.00 percent to $2.99 in after-hours trading Tuesday. The company shares have a 52-week low of $10.91, a 52-week high of 4.13 and 67.09 million in market capitalization.

The shares of Renewable Energy Group Inc (REGI) rose 7.45 percent in post-market to close at $5.05. The company posted the second quarter net income of $11.3 million or 39 cents per share versus a loss of $10.3 million or 78 cents per share in the same quarter a year ago.

Synacor Inc (SYNC) shares advanced 4.56 percent to $8.26 in post-market trading. The company shares dropped 12.12 percent in regular trading Tuesday.

Arena Pharmaceuticals Inc (ARNA) shares gained 3.39 percent and reached $8.54 in after-hours trading. The company shares jumped over speculations about a rumored takeover.

Transcept Pharmaceuticals Inc (TSPT) shares surged 3.11 percent to $5.47 in after-hours trading. The company announced the financial results for the three and six months ending June 30, 2012. The company reported the second quarter net loss of $5.14 million or 30 cents per share, wider than $2.25 million or 17 cents per share in the same quarter last year. The shares lost 9.78 percent in regular trading Tuesday.

Losers

Horizon Pharma, Inc (HZNP) shares slumped 5.53 percent to $4.27 in the post-market trading Tuesday. The company shares have a 52-week low of $3.05, a 52-week high of 5.53 and 67.09 million in market capitalization.

KIT digital Inc (SNTS) shares plunged 4.67 percent to $2.86 in post-market trading. The company reported a loss of $1.99 per share in the second quarter. The company's revenue was up 13.6 percent on a year-over-year basis.

Myriad Genetics Inc (MYGN) shares lost 3.81 percent in after-hours trading to reach $24.50. The company reported the fourth quarter net income of $0.34 per share after close Tuesday, compared to $0.30 per share last year.

TICC Capital Corp (TICC) shares dropped 2.32 percent to $9.68 in after-hours trading. The company announced that it had commenced a public offering of 2,000,000 shares of its common stock. In connection with the offering, the company will grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 300,000 additional shares of common stock.

Lexicon Pharmaceuticals Inc (LXRX) shares dropped 1.89 percent to $2.08 in after-market trading. The company shares have a 52-week low of $0.81, a 52-week high of 3.28 and 1.05 billion in market capitalization.
