Tottenham’s newly-appointed managing director Fabio Paratici is being linked to a transfer swoop for one of Serie A’s top strikers.

Paratici is looking at a busy transfer window as apart from dealing with Harry Kane’s situation, Tottenham president Daniel Levy is also keen on landing a few value-for-money signings.

Among the targets currently on Paratici’s radar is Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, Italian outlet Tuttosport reported.

With Kane’s future still uncertain, the Tottenham high-up is considering Vlahovic as a potential replacement should the English striker end up parting ways with the Spurs this summer, the report said.

While there seems to be an apparent interest from Tottenham, securing the signature of Vlahovic may not be as easy as it sounds.

An earlier report stated that Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso is willing to “do everything” at his disposal to keep the prominent striker.

Vlahovic has enjoyed his latest campaign with the Serie A outfit, having bagged 21 goals in 37 games across all competitions.

The said tally saw the 21-year-old behind only Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Luis Muriel in the Italian top-flight's top goal scorers’ list.

The Serbian’s lengthy physique and incredible nose for goals even earned him the moniker “New Zlatan Ibrahimovic” due to the notable resemblance to the Swedish forward.

“[Ibrahimovic] is a legend, I love him,” Vlahovic told The Gazzetta dello Sport last year. “It’s the first time I’ll play against him, well, it’s actually the first time I see him live.”

“My friends used to call me ‘Ibra’ because I walked with wide feet like Zlatan, but it was not to imitate the legend,” he continued. “It just came so naturally. I have been following the Swedish star since he played for Inter [Milan]. Then, I accompanied him as a fan on his adventure in Barcelona and the American experience [MLS]. And now at [AC] Milan.”

Tottenham, on the other hand, is still unsure about what the future holds for Kane.

However, renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano recently suggested that Manchester City might finally take a step closer in signing the England captain.

“The player [Kane] wants to play Champions League football and Manchester City is really pushing for him,” Romano said. “Manchester City are really going to insist on Harry Kane.”

“I think there will be some update in the next hours or days about this situation because Manchester City wants Harry Kane but we have to respect Tottenham’s position, and Tottenham at the moment is still saying: ‘No, the player is not leaving. We want a crazy bid or the player is staying.'” he continued.
