Alex Telles appears content with his efforts, but he knows he can do better for Manchester United.

He feels he can do better next season at Old Trafford although he needs to do a lot as he competes with Luke Shaw for regular playing time.

Acquired before the 2020-21 season following a $20 million deal with Porto, the 28-year-old left-back appeared in 24 games and started in eight English Premier League matches.

For now, that may hardly matter for the Brazilian who knows that he can perform at the same level he showed while he was with Porto.

"I've learned a great deal, I learned a lot of things, I've developed as a player and a person as well,” Telles stated via the official team website. "I'm sure that I'll continue doing even better to spend more time on the pitch and get a lot more minutes."

In all, Telles has no qualms about how his first season with Manchester United went. It was a feeling out year for the Brazilian footballer. .

"I think I always took the opportunity to do my best whenever I was on the pitch. I had good games, with the adaptation process the first season isn't easy, but I believe that when Ole [Solskjaer] gave me the opportunity and placed his trust in me and put me on the pitch, I did my best,” he stated.

There is reason to expect a lot from Telles. At Porto, he registered 26 goals and 57 assists in the four years he was with the club.

Telles did convert on a penalty shootout in the Europa League final shootout defeat against Villareal. However, it remains that he wants more scores with the Red Devils.

"I scored a lot of goals previously at Porto and now I'm really looking forward to playing and scoring my first goal," he declared.
