  • Jurgen Klopp douses water on Mohamed Salah's transfer speculations
  • Salah is doing fine with Reds, according to the head coach
  • Salah's interview may have been misinterpreted

Liverpool is overloaded with talent and it comes as no surprise that pundits would try to raise awareness on potential transfers moving forward.

One name that recently made headlines was Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian mentioned a potential move to Barcelona and Real Madrid in an interview with AS.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old admitted that he is a bit disappointed because he was overlooked for the captaincy in the Reds' 1-1 draw with Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League earlier this month.

Lastly, he said that his future depends on the plans of the club.

When asked to comment, Klopp immediately shot it down. He says that the Egyptian forward is in a "good moment" and happy with his role in the team.

As far as contract speculations, the Liverpool manager adds that there is nothing to say.

“We never speak [about contracts],” Klopp said. “Mo is in a good mood and moment, shape and that is the most important. You would have seen him laughing a lot [at training today]. The rest is nice for you to write but internally, nothing really [to say].”

The whole thing may be nothing more than a statement taken out of context. But with Klopp setting the records straight, the immediate concern for the Reds is their upcoming match with West Brom.

After that, they face Newcastle and Southampton.

Salah is expected to play and continue his efficiency on the pitch. He has so far scored 86 goals in 121 appearances.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last seven games across all competitions. Their last one was against Crystal Palace, which they won handily, 7-0.

"7-0 is a number you don't see often," Klopp explained. "After the [Palace] game my thought was that we canceled out [Villa]. We didn't mention that game much to keep the lads going.”

One player who is not expected against the Baggies is Thiago Alcantara. Instead, the Reds will welcome back Xherdan Shaqiri and James Milner from injury layoffs.

“Thiago has made his first steps back towards team training. Not full yet,” Klopp bared. “After a long time, we cannot rush it.”
