  • Barcelona is expected to give Juan Miranda a contract extension after this season
  • Miranda prefers to stick with Real Betis where he has been performing well
  • Juventus could try to acquire Miranda after this season

Barcelona has a lot of talent on board, one of which is Juan Miranda.

He is currently on loan at Real Betis but has gained a lot of attention with his impressive play. With that being said, one thing that needs to be addressed is his contract, which ends after the current season.

Miranda joined the Barcelona ranks in 2014. He debuted for Blaugrana in August 2017 but scored his first senior goal in January 2018 against Granada CF.

But things just took a different turn from there with the 21-year-old getting loaned out. Before joining the La Liga side, Miranda suited up for Schalke 04 in 2019.

Like most players, the loan spells are seen as a way to help hone the skills of young and promising players. In the case of Miranda, he has made 21 appearances for Betis across all competitions this season.

Moreover, he is part of the reason why Beticos reached the sixth spot of the Liga table.

But along with that comes questions about his future. Talking to El Desmarque, Miranda preferred not to talk about his contract situation and wanted to focus on the current season.

Miranda feels it is not the right time to tackle is his future and would rather save that for another day.

"Barca and Betis will talk when the moment is right, probably at the end of the season. Right now I am only interested in helping Betis qualify for Europe,” Miranda stated. "When the league finishes, we can talk."

The word out is that Barca plans to extend the contract of the Spanish player before discussing another loan spell with Betis.

Seeing that Miranda is happily playing on loan at Estadio Benito Villamarin, this is something that could work to his advantage.

"I am young and I need to play minutes,” the 21-year-old left-back said. "We want to get into Europe in these final games, which is good for me and the club, and the three parties will make a decision after the season."

It would also be best to note that there are other clubs interested in the services of Miranda.

Juventus was mentioned in the past, so they could enter the mix and try to see the Spaniard’s availability.

In all, the Spanish left-back will not run short of options after this season.
