KEY POINTS

  • Ousmane Dembele may look beyond the lucrative offers before deciding on his future
  • Tottenham joins the tight race to acquire his services.
  • Dembele may want to stay in Barcelona

Ousmane Dembele will have options on the table next summer, but staying in Barcelona seems to be at the top of his list.

The only problem right now is that the Frenchman and the Catalans have yet to seal a deal, a reason why multiple clubs remain hopeful of plucking the 24-year-old forward from Camp Nou.

The latest team reportedly interested in getting Dembele is Tottenham, according to Diario Sport. They join Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich in the array of lurking clubs that are out to try and secure the signature of the French forward.

Although the aforementioned teams have shown interest, it is worth noting is that Dembele’s priority is to stay with Barca.

But for as long as no new deal is in place, anything is possible for the French skipper.

According to several reports, Barcelona is offering Dembele the same salary he is currently getting.

However, he could end up being the highest-paid player of Barcelona if he gets all the bonuses and perks in the latest contract offer.

Regardless, the camp of Dembele continues to entertain an offer from a host of clubs. There have been pitches that are allegedly astronomical, some even including signing bonuses that Barca may not be able to match.

Newcastle United is said to be ready to dangle£326,000 ($431,000)-a week aside from an alleged £25 million ($33 million) bonus upon arrival.

As things stand now, it has become a numbers game for Dembele as he and his representatives weigh in on the offers before deciding.

But beyond the numbers, there are other factors that the Dembele camp may consider. That includes the status of the team and the people calling the shots.

In the case of Tottenham, it is no secret that the Spurs are serious about changing things up for the better.

The arrival of Antonio Conte could factor in, something that could tempt Dembele to reconsider his future–not to mention the chance to win more silverware.
