  • Hugo Ekitike is on the radar of several teams, including Tottenham
  • Newcastle has already pitched an offer for Ekitike, but the bid was rejected
  • Ekitike has been making waves in Ligue 1 as of late

Multiple teams are now reportedly in the race for the services of French striker Hugo Ekitike--with Tottenham mentioned as the latest club to join the chase.

While the 19-year-old would be someone that the Spurs could use, the possibility of seeing him heading there does not look promising.

The primary reason behind it is that Tottenham does not have the luxury of spending this season.

Acquiring the 19-year-old striker would require at least £25 million ($34 million) to seal the deal, RMC Sport reported.

Ekitike could be nothing more than an investment for the future. But given their current financial status, splurging that much money at this stage may not make sense.

So with uncertainty on what Tottenham plans to do, the highly-touted striker does have other options.

Aside from the Spurs, Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund and West Ham United are other teams reportedly keen on getting the teen sensation, FB Ref reported.

Of those teams, the Magpies already submitted an initial bid for the French player. Unfortunately, that pitch was thumbed down.

As for the Hammers and Die Borussen, there is no official word on whether the two teams have already made offers.

There is no question that Ekitike is a player worth investing in. In Ligue 1, the French footballer has scored eight goals in 17 appearances for Stade De Reims this season.

But what makes Ekitike stand out is that he holds a better percentage of his shots on target.
