It’s been a year without Trevor Donovan on Hallmark Channel, but for everyone who’s missed seeing the “90210” alum on the network, we have some good news: He’s set to jumpstart Hallmark’s schedule of new movies for 2019!

There are plenty of 2018 Hallmark Channel Christmas movies still to air, but Donovan’s already been cast as the male lead in a new flick for Winterfest, Hallmark’s first programming event of 2019. In the movie, currently titled “SnowComing,” he’ll play Jake Gillette, a famous NFL Super Bowl-winning quarterback, a representative for the star exclusively told International Business Times.

The actor’s heading out to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada later this week to begin filming. This will be his first Hallmark movie since his 2017 Christmas flick, “Marry Me at Christmas,” with Rachel Skarsten.

While he wasn’t on Hallmark in 2018, he still had a busy year. Donovan was in UPtv’s “Runaway Romance,” guest-starred on “Lucifer” and was hard at work filming the TV adaptation of Karen Kingsbury’s novel series, “The Baxters,” for LightWorkers Media.

Hallmark’s new Winterfest premiere will follow Jake as he heads home to celebrate the retirement of his old high school football coach. While in town, he’ll rekindle a romance with his high school love, Samantha, who happens to be the coach’s daughter, too.

Joining Donovan for “SnowComing” as the female lead of Samantha is Lindy Booth, Hallmark tells IBT. The actress was last seen on Hallmark in the 2018 Fall Harvest movie, “Under the Autumn Moon,” with Wes Brown. This will be the first time that Booth and Donovan have worked together.

The film is set to be directed by Peter DeLuise, executive produced by Beth Grossbard and produced by Harvey Kahn.

No premiere date has been set for “SnowComing” just yet, but fans can expect to see it at the start of 2019 on Hallmark Channel during its Winterfest event.
