The True Meaning Behind 'Jersey Shore' Star Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi's Baby Names

"Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and husband Jionni LaValle welcomed son Angelo James in the early morning hours on Thursday, People confirms. The newborn arrived at 2:30 A.M., weighing 7 lbs., 8 oz.

Polizzi, who announced on Instagram that she was pregnant in November 2018, gushed to People, “So thrilled to welcome baby Angelo into our little family! He is so sweet and a spitting image of Lorenzo as a baby... Jionni and I can’t wait to see how being outnumbered turns out!”

The couple already shares 4-year-old daughter, Giovanna Marie, and 6-year-old son, Lorenzo Dominic.

Keeping with the couple's Italian roots, Angelo is the perfect name for the newborn. According to nameberry.com, the name has an Italian origin meaning "angel, messenger". Baby Angelo will share an Italian name with his brother and sister as they also have names with Italian derivatives. Giovanna is the female version of the Italian name which some various outlets say mean "God is gracious" or " Gift from God". Lorenzo is an Italian, Spanish mix and means "from Laurentium", which is an ancient Roman city.

Nicole met Jionni during the summer of 2010 while filming MTV's "Jersey Shore". After facing some trying times (remember when "Jersey Shore" went to Italy?), they got engaged in March 2012 before their first child, Lorenzo, arrived in August of the same year. The pair got married in November 2014 just two months after the arrival of their second child, Giovanna, in September 2014.

Polizzi first gained popularity when she appeared on "Jersey Shore". The show consisted of six seasons beginning in 2009 and ending in 2012. Snooki kept busy after the show ended starring in the spin-off "Snooki and Jwoww" with "Jersey Shore" castmate Jennifer Farley. She also competed on Season 17 of "Dancing With The Stars" and "The New Celebrity Apprentice" in 2017. The series that initially brought her to fame has since been rebooted; "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation" and will air its third season this year.
