  • UFC legend claims Bruce Lee would have become even better with his help
  • There's one martial arts Lee isn't very good at
  • Floyd Mayweather may never fight in UFC

A UFC legend said that legendary martial artist Bruce Lee could have been much better if they trained together.

Despite not being able to compete at the biggest fight promotions such as UFC and Pride, Lee was already recognized as arguably the greatest martial artist the world has ever seen. Apparently, Former UFC fighter Frank Shamrock wasn’t afraid to talk about the late Hollywood and martial arts icon.

In a brief interview with Elie Seckbach of EsNews, Shamrock was asked who his favorite fighters of all time. The MMA icon responded that he’s more into “old school” fighters and one of his personal favorites is Lee.

“Mine is all old school man, I’m a Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris and Muhammad Ali guy,” Shamrock said.

Triggered by Shamrock’s answers, Seckbach asked the 47-year-old legend a hypothetical question: how would Lee compete in the UFC? Surprisingly, Shamrock said that had he been able to train Lee, the late martial artist would have done “amazing” in UFC.

“If we trained together, he would do amazing,” Shamrock said about Lee.

Shamrock continued by saying he would “focus on grappling” as he thinks that it is the one thing Lee isn’t good at.

“I think he had a rudimentary in understanding of grappling. I don’t think it had been developed as much by then,” Shamrock added.

Indeed, Shamrock has made a name for himself in grappling. According to him, he uses the same philosophies on every fighter he trains. As for Lee, he would do exactly the same and predicted that the Hollywood action star would have become a UFC icon like himself with the help of his grappling philosophies.

“He (Lee) would have progressed like I progressed using the same philosophies,” Shamrock predicted.

In another interview, Shamrock also made a bold prediction about another legend in combat sports. The former UFC middleweight fighter stated his thoughts about Floyd Mayweather’s possible UFC debut. And as per Shamrock’s perspective, he doesn’t think Mayweather will ever fight in the UFC and risk his flawless record. And if the undefeated champ ever decided to step inside the octagon, the only person he would fight is his own grandmother.

“He’s not gonna fight in an octagon. Cause all he gotta do is boxing. And if he does, he’s gonna fight his grandmother cause he’s never gonna risk (his record). He’s too smart,” Shamrock said about Mayweather’s possible UFC debut.
