A Ukrainian man attempted to sink a luxury superyacht belonging to his high-rolling Russian boss after discovering his weapon business is being used to harm Ukrainians.

Taras Ostaphchuk, 55, is a chief engineer and has also worked for around 10 years as a mechanic on the $7.7 million yacht named “Lady Anastasia” that belongs to Alexander Mijeev, the CEO of Russian military weapons company, Rosoboronexport, the Mallorca Daily Bulletin in Spain reported.

Ostapchuck allegedly traveled to the yacht located in Port Adriano, Spain, on Saturday to open multiple of its valves and intentionally flood it. The yacht reportedly endured some severe damage.

Police came to arrest him as he was at the port, and he cooperated but explained the reason for his actions.

"I don't regret anything I've done, and I would do it again. My boss is a criminal who sells weapons that kill the Ukrainian people," Ostapchuk told a judge in court.

"I watched the news about the war. There was a video of a helicopter attack on a building in Kyiv. The armaments used are produced by the yacht owner's company. They were attacking innocents," he said.

The judge released Ostaphchuck from custody and he has since left Spain. His next move is to return to Ukraine and help any military that him.

“I’m going to fight. As soon as I reach the first Ukrainian city I will look for a military commander and ask him if they need me,” Ostapchuk said.

“I told myself: ‘Why do I need a job if I have my country. I had a good job as a head mechanic on the boat and a good salary but I am going to fight for my nation,” he said.
