“This Is Us” isn’t going anywhere. NBC announced Sunday that the drama has been renewed for Season 4. Not only that, but they’ve given the green light for Seasons 5 and 6 too. The cast and crew were thrilled about the announcement.

Sterling K. Brown, who plays Randall, kept his response simple: “Wow. THREE more seasons!!!” he tweeted along with an exploding head emoji.

His onscreen brother, Justin Hartley, was just as enthusiastic. “We’re back! Incredible to see how far we’ve come in three seasons. Excited to see what’s in store for the next three,” the Kevin actor tweeted.

Rebecca actress Mandy Moore, who plays the Pearson family matriarch, was a little more verbose. “We are all BEYOND excited to share the good news that we have been renewed for 3 MORE SEASONS!” she wrote. “None of this would be possible without your unwavering support from episode 1 and our entire [‘This Is Us’] family is unbelievably grateful. So buckle up, we’re just getting started!!”

Creator Dan Fogelman posted a series of tweets that looked back at the beginning of the show and thanked fans for their support.

Jon Huertas, Susan Kelechi Watson and Chris Sullivan were also excited about the news.

Fogelman and co-showrunner Isaac Aptaker told Deadline in February that they’d mapped out “This Is Us” for three more seasons, hinting that they could bring the story to a close at that point. However, the producers and cast have explained since then that no decisions have been made yet about if Season 6 will be the last.

The new seasons will continue to be 18 episodes each, bringing “This Is Us” to 108 episodes by the end of the sixth season, which will air in the 2021-2022 TV season.

For now though, fans are more concerned about Season 4. Flash forwards revealed that Rebecca is not doing well, and the present day storyline has plenty of drama too. Kevin has relapsed, Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) are raising a baby who was born prematurely and Randall and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) are moving to Philadelphia.

“This Is Us” Season 4 will return to NBC in the fall. It will keep its Tuesday night timeslot at 9 p.m. EDT, but an exact premiere date has not yet been announced.
