The cast of “Vikings” is gearing up for another blood-drenched season of the History Channel series. And luckily for fans, a few actors from the epic drama are giving audiences a behind-the-scenes look at what’s to come before Season 4 premieres in February.

On Wednesday, Maude Hirst, who portrays Helga on “Vikings,” shared an image from her night of filming.

“Not long to wait till Season 4,” the daughter of the show’s creator, Michael Hirst, wrote on Instagram along with a picture from the set. In the frightening photo, fans can see several skulls propped up with spears that are surrounded by fire, chains and animals skulls. Looks like the upcoming installment will be just as dark as we had hoped!

Katheryn Winnick, who plays Lagertha, has also posted several photos while filming of Season 4 of “Vikings.” From a peek at her character’s new armor to a look at the show’s massive set, Winnick has shared countless pictures with fans lead up to the premiere. The actress’ most recent image is one she snapped with the “Vikings” newcomer Josh Donaldson.

The third baseman of the Toronto Blue Jays will guest star in the upcoming season as a skilled warrior, according to reports — and apparently, a very thoughtful one.

When the two-time All-Star athlete packed his bags for Ireland to begin filming, he also shoved a very special gift in his suitcase for Winnick: her very own baseball jersey.

“From one warrior to another.. Great to have you on our #Vikings set,” Winnick captioned a photo of the two posing together. In the image, the actress is holding up a personalized uniform with her character’s name splashed across the back. “Digging my new #Lagertha baseball jersey,” she added.

The 30-year-old baseball player is set to take on the role of Hoskuld. Donaldson gave fans a glimpse of his character on Instagram when he posted a photo of himself getting dolled up — or should we say tatted up? — for the series.
