Waffle House fans will have a little more cheer this holiday season as the restaurant chain has teamed up to introduce a craft beer.

The company was joined forces with Oconee Brewing Company to release the Bacon & Kegs red ale beer that will roll out in six-packs and on draft starting on Dec. 18.

Beer lovers will able to buy the cans and fill up on pints and growlers at Oconee Brewing Company’s location in Greensboro, Georgia.

The Bacon & Kegs brew includes a 6.5% ABV (alcohol by volume) with a dark red color that has been scented with bacon. It has a "malty sweetness" to its base that was developed to blend with the salty, savory, and smokiness of the bacon flavor.

Oconee Brewing Company said the Bacon & Kegs beer pairs well with breakfast, or it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone beverage.

The Bacon & Kegs partnership is the latest beer collaboration to crop up just before the 2020 holidays. At the end of September, D.G. Yuengling & Son brewery announced a tie-up with Hershey's to produce a chocolate porter that is available on draft and in bottles.

The chocolate porter has a 4.7% ABV and combine’s Yuengling’s nearly 200-year-old Dark Brewed Porter recipe with Hershey’s chocolate. It also features caramel and dark roasted malts.

Hershey’s and Yuengling first brewed the beer together in 2019 and decided to bring it back based on its popularity. The collaboration brings the chocolate porter to 22 states where Yuengling is available, while supplies last.
