Walgreens (WBA) has designated April 25 as a special day for frontline heroes and will offer them a discount at its stores during the coronavirus pandemic.

Medical personnel, first responders, and police can receive a 30% discount on regularly-priced Walgreens-branded products and a 20% discount on regularly priced national branded items. Frontline heroes just need to present an employment badge or identification at a Walgreens store to receive the discount with their Balance Rewards card.

Walgreens said it is offering the Frontline Heroes Discount Day in appreciation and recognition of these workers.

“At Walgreens, we would like to thank all of the physicians, nurses, paramedics, police officers, fire fighters, and other health care and frontline professionals working to support and care for our neighbors and communities,” Richard Ashworth, Walgreens president, said in a statement. “We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing work they continue to perform during these extraordinary times and hope that this serves as a small token of our appreciation for their ongoing service.”

The company said some quantity limits may apply to certain high demand products. The discount is also not valid on “alcohol, dairy, tobacco, stamps, gift cards, newspapers, magazines, money orders or transfers, transportation passes, lottery tickets, charitable donation, pseudoephedrine or ephedrine products, clinic services, prescriptions, pharmacy items or services, sales tax, membership fees, and items or services submitted to insurance for reimbursement”

The discount can also not be combined with buy one get one free, buy one get one 50% off, or buy two get the third free offers. It also cannot be used on bulk orders, back-ordered items, and out-of-stock products.

Shares of Walgreens stock were up 2.21% as of 2:31 p.m. EDT on Friday.
