'The Walking Dead' Season 10: How CGI Brought Back Familiar Characters

Michonne (Danai Gurira) finally left “The Walking Dead” Season 10 in a special episode that showed an alternate reality scene of the character. Some familiar characters were brought back to give the character a proper send off, and a new video has been released online that shows how they used CGI to film these scenes.

The producers used unseen footage and CGI for the alternate reality sequence, Screen Rant reported. A blue screen was used to bring together the old footage and the newly filmed scenes. This helped in bringing back some of the characters related to Michonne.

Michonne’s path changed the day she met Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the others. Executive producer Denise Huth pointed out in the video that the journey of the katana wielding hero proves that a person’s path in life is dictated by the people one meets.

While the exit of their beloved character was difficult for the fans, Gurira too is emotional about saying goodbye to Michonne in “The Walking Dead” Season 10. The actress wrote a heart-felt letter dedicated to the people involved in the TV series and the fans, who she referred to as her “TWD family.”

Gurira thanked everyone and said that her heart is broken and overwhelmed at the same time. She said that her journey with the fans will not end after her exit from the show and added that she and the fans will “continue to grow and be together in various ways.”

Many of the fans and the cast members of the show paid tribute to Michonne. One of the actors who shared a video to say goodbye to Gurira’s character was Lincoln. The actress shared the video the Rick Grimes actor made for her on her Instagram page.

Although “The Walking Dead” Season 10 marks the exit of Michonne, there is still a possibility that the character will return in the future. A movie about Rick is currently being developed and it is possible that the katana wielding hero will be featured in it.
