If there’s one thing Norman Reedus would prefer not to talk about, it’s what happens in the Season 6 finale of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” In a new interview, Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, explained that because he’s so close with his co-stars it’s hard to talk about what happened.

“We’re a very tight-knit group,” Reedus told TV Line. “And we take it very personally, because we’re in it and living it. Every time you see us crying on camera, those are real tears. It’s a whole day of living that s---.”

The 47-year-old actor, who’s been on “The Walking Dead” since Season 1, said it’s especially hard to talk about something personal happening on the show, like a character's death. “For us, it doesn’t feel like a spoiler, it feels like a moment that really happened,” he said. “And if there’s a death involved, it’s kinda weird to talk about it. It’s like going to our friend’s funeral or going possibly to our own funeral!”

Reedus also said he understands how anxious fans are to find out which character was on the receiving end of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) bat. “I will definitely, 100 percent say that it’s well worth the wait,” he teased. “It’s large. It’s mind-blowing.” According to the outlet, the actor said the next season of the hit show will be like a “brand-new world.”

For those fans who may need a refresher, Season 6 ended with Negan swinging his barbed-wire bat, Lucille, at one of the characters. Of course the victim was not revealed, and fans have to wait until the show returns in October for Season 7 to find out what happened.

It appears that Reedus isn’t the only cast member who would prefer to not talk about the finale. Lauren Cohan told E! News in April that it was almost like a “giant funeral” for a loved one. “We just don’t know who that is,” she said. “There was a lot of hugging and embracing … during the filming those two nights. You can imagine … We’re pretty broken up about the whole thing.”

While Cohan and Reedus said it’s hard for them to reflect on that shocking episode, “The Walking Dead” showrunner Robert Kirkman had no problem teasing fans about which characters will be killed off in the future. As previously reported, Kirkman told the audience during his Hawaii Comic-Con panel that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Carl (Chandler Riggs), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Darryl will all bite the dust at some point in the series.
