U.S. stocks stayed at session highs on Friday after data showed inventories at factories increased for the first time in more than a year in October, adding to optimism after an earlier report showed the economy shed far fewer jobs than expected last month.

* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 116.23 points, or 1.12 percent, to 10,482.38. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 14.94 points, or 1.36 percent, at 1,114.86. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> put on 35.49 points, or 1.63 percent, at 2,208.63.
