The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> rose 43.76 points, or 0.41 percent, to end at 10,785.74, according to the latest available figures. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> gained 5.90 points, or 0.51 percent, to 1,165.80. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 20.99 points, or 0.88 percent, to 2,395.40.
