Wall Street opens down on commodity weakness
U.S. stocks fell at the open on Tuesday as a move higher in the dollar pressured commodity prices and investors weighed the potential for some consolidation in equities after a recent run-up.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 10.52 points, or 0.08 percent, at 12,796.84. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> slipped 2.97 points, or 0.22 percent, at 1,358.25. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was off 4.85 points, or 0.17 percent, at 2,859.23.
