Walmart entered the Metaverse on Monday with the release of two new immersive experiences —"Walmart Land" and "Walmart's Universe of Play" — which will be available in the popular gaming platform among the virtual world Roblox.

The new Walmart virtual experiences will offer customers interactive content and entertainment through a very wide range of activities while promoting the store in a new way. Walmart has a goal of reaching younger customers throughout the Metaverse.

"We're showing up in a big way – creating community, content, entertainment and games through the launch of Walmart Land and Walmart's Universe of Play," William White, chief marketing officer at Walmart U.S., said in a press release.

"Roblox is one of the fastest growing and largest platforms in the metaverse, and we know our customers are spending loads of time there. So, we're focusing on creating new and innovative experiences that excite them, something we're already doing in the communities where they live, and now, the virtual worlds where they play," White said.

Walmart Land offers three big experiences including "Electric Island," "House of Style," and "Electric Forest."

Users can find activities through the experiences like music festivals, a piano walkway, dance competitions, a virtual store, DJ booth, Netflix trivia, a rolling-skating rink, virtual dressing room, a strike-a-pose challenge, and an oversized cosmetics obstacle course.

Walmart's Universe of Play includes "immersive games" which features popular characters from series like Paw Patrol and Jurassic World.

It also includes "sought-after rewards," where users can try to collect as many virtual toys as they drop down from the virtual sky. The is also "virtual adventures," which involves users traveling around the virtual world on e-mobility devices like hover boards.
