The Golden State Warriors have a better chance than not of getting back to the postseason. As the regular season comes to a close, the odds suggest Stephen Curry and Co. will make the 2021 NBA playoffs.

With two games left on the schedule, the Warriors are the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference. Sitting three games behind the No. 7 seed Los Angeles Lakers and 5.5 games ahead of the No. 11 seed Sacramento Kings, Golden State has already secured a spot in the league’s new play-in tournament.

The only thing left to decide is whether the Warriors will need to win one or two play-in games to clinch a playoff berth.

Golden State has a half-game lead over the No. 9 seed Memphis Grizzlies. If the standings hold, the Warriors will have two chances to win one play-in game and reach the playoffs. Falling back to the No. 9 seed would mean Golden State must win two straight play-in games in order to advance.

The Lakers and Warriors are currently set to meet in the first play-in game. Los Angeles would prove a tough draw for Golden State given LeBron James and Anthony Davis' return to the court just in time to make a run at a title defense.

The Grizzlies host the Kings on Thursday and Friday in two games they are favored to win. On Friday, the Warriors host the New Orleans Pelicans, who have been eliminated from contention and will likely be without Zion Williamson.

If both Memphis and Golden State remain perfect until Sunday, the two teams will meet in the regular-season finale with the West’s No. 8 seed on the line. The Grizzlies and Warriors split their two meetings on March 19 and 20, when Curry missed both games with an injury.

The Warriors are given -148 odds to reach the playoffs at DraftKings Sportsbook. Golden State has +117 odds to miss the playoffs. Memphis has +190 odds to make the playoffs and -250 odds to come up short in the play-in tournament.

Curry has led the Warriors with another MVP-caliber season. The greatest shooter of all time has seemingly gotten even better this season, averaging a career-high 31.8 points and 5.3 made three-pointers per game. Golden State has a 36-26 record when Curry is in the lineup.

Without Curry for almost all of last season, Golden State missed the playoffs with the league’s worst record. It ended the Warriors’ streak of five straight appearances in the NBA Finals.

The Warriors have +15000 odds to win the championship.
